Picked Up A Small Cannon Fodder

Chapter 1

Li Jiyue finally finished the book, “The protagonist doesn’t want to date”.

The content of the book is really the same as its title, the protagonist doesn’t date. He only likes games, and the game is his wife.

One book, three million words. The protagonist has no partner even at the end of the story; Li Jiyue thought for a while, then he who has never been in a relationship isn’t considered that miserable. After all, even the big bro who achieved fame and success is dull in finding love.

Even after seeing the grand finale, Li Jiyue still felt a sense of unfulfillment. He threw a few thunders to the author, hoping to be able to see a lot of extra chapters.

After getting the author’s reply, he closed his cell phone contentedly.

Discovering this novel in the beginning was purely an accident;, Li Jiyue, an orphan who was a work-study student.

His everyday life is occupied by part-time work and study. He had never read novels before, but one day, when he was working, a cute and lovely young waiter sister came over. She held up her mobile phone and said, “Little LaBa, look, this novel’s supporting role has the same name as you.”

Li Jiyue took the young sister’s cellphone and looked at it, it was really the same. It’s just the same name but different surnames. In the book, Li Jiyue has a family, his parents who love him, and his older brother who dotes on him. His family is the richest in H City.

But in this reality, Li Jiyue has nothing.

When he returned home that night, without knowing why he secretly searched for the book.

Didn’t know if one didn’t look, but once one looked it gave one a fright.

The novel’s Li Jiyue is actually a villain. He was spoiled rotten by his family, and after the protagonist developed a game he wanted to claim it for himself.

Of course his ending was terrible.

His family also paid a price for his behaviour.

Li Jiyue who has read from the beginning to more than one hundred chapters was full of hatred. He even wanted to teach a lesson to that person in the book.

It’s not yours, so you shouldn’t play tricks, this is not a good attitude!

Li Jiyue, who has been conquered by the charm of the protagonist, couldn’t wait to get Li Jiyue out of the book and personally avenge the protagonist.

Just like that, the unstoppable Li Jiyue, after chasing more than half a year, finally came  to an end.

The protagonist has fulfilled his childhood dream, and he will never be bullied by others again. Li Jiyue was sincerely happy for him. Before going to bed, he made a wish, hoping to dream Jiang Fang and say congratulations in person.

That night, Li Jiyue’s sleep was restless, he felt uncomfortable all over his body. There were even noisy voices by his ears and a woman’s crying, it was all messy.

Li Jiyue wanted to open his eyes, but his eyelids were too heavy and he felt like being in a huge wood stove.

He struggled, sobbing like a little cat.

The hearts of the family members in front of the hospital bed were all picked up. The old man had never cried at such an old age, but he actually shed tears when he looked at the uncomfortable appearance of his little grandson, “What to do, we can’t make Little LaBa continue to feel so uncomfortable.”

But all the injections that he needed were  given, and even the doctors were helpless.

Feng Hao, wearing a small suit, could also feel the heavy atmosphere between the adults. Today was the day of his competition.

In the morning, he enthusiastically asked his mother if she could come, but she hesitated. Just when he thought his mother had to take care of his younger brother and couldn’t leave, she actually agreed.

She touched Feng Hao’s head and smiled softly, “Mom will send your brother to your grandfather’s house, and then I’ll go watch your game, okay?”

Feng Hao restrained his joy and nodded reservedly. He also hooked his mother’s finger in a pinky promise and said to her that she definitely has to come.

But his mother never showed up, and the home’s driver came to pick him up.

Feng Hao’s unhappiness was written all over his face, and he asked the uncle driver if his mother had problems that kept her from coming to see him.

The driver was silent for a while, “Little young master, something has happened at home. Madam can’t leave, so the old master said to let me take you to the hospital first.”

Feng Hao naturally knew that the hospital was not a good place. He looked at the driver in surprise, like a little adult, “What’s the matter? Is anyone in the house unwell?”

The driver sighed, “You will know when you go there, Little LaBa, he…”

Feng Hao didn’t know why the uncle driver only said half of it and then didn’t say anymore. He was then taken to the hospital.

His little brother was lying on the hospital bed, only his face was exposed under the white quilt. Just like when he was born, wrapped in a small ball.

At that time Feng Hao was also like this, standing in front of the bed looking at him.

He made up his mind that he would take good care of his little brother, but when his younger brother grew up and the whole family’s heart was on him, he began to be annoyed by him.

Now, he just looked at him and couldn’t tell what his heart was feeling.

“What’s wrong with little brother?”

Mom was still crying and couldn’t spare time to answer him. The father who had just pushed down everything and hurriedly came here squatted down and looked at him, “Little brother is sick, can you stay with auntie obediently tonight?”

Feng Hao blinked, “No, I’ve grown up, I can take care of  myself. Are you not going home today?”

Dad patiently explained, “Little brother is sick, so mother and I will stay here to accompany him.”

Feng Hao nodded, he could understand the adults, his brother was sick. It is more important for his mother to take care of his younger brother than to watch his game competition. Feng Hao looked at his father, “Then can little brother be back in two days?”

This was always the case. His little brother had to be hospitalized often. Every time he stayed there for a few days, and then he could come home again.

But this time his father didn’t speak. He remembered the death sentence imposed by the doctor. Feng Tingyun wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes. He said, “Go back, go back with the driver uncle, it’s getting late.”

Feng Hao waved his hands to his little brother and bid farewell to his mom, dad and grandpa.

Feng Tingyun looked at his aging father, “Dad, you can go back to rest, too. I just need the two of us guarding here.”

The old man didn’t say he was leaving, he just looked at the little grandson with a distressed look, “How can things become like this? Wasn’t he getting better and better?”

When his daughter-in-law brought the little grandson over today, he was fine.  He just started to get a fever after eating a meal. His body has always been weak and sick since he was a child. He was even premature when he was born. The old man even deliberately used other surnames according to fortune-telling, science and superstition, and everything that could be done, he had done it.

But even so, why can’t this child be kept?

The doctor said that this time he might really not make it.

The old man doesn’t want to leave, he wants to see his little grandson a little more.

Li Jiyue seemed to have had a long dream, but the dream was all messy. In the end, there was a beam of light shining on his forehead, and that beam of light could still speak. It said: Sorry, I seem to have made your destiny wrong. You are not an orphan, now I will take your memory and send you back.

Li Jiyue felt a force pushing him, and he began to fall, and when he reached the bottom, he jumped up in reflection.

“Little LaBa?” Feng Tingyun, who was laying on the bed and looking at his convulsing son, hurriedly moved closer.

Li Jiyue waved a pair of tiny hands and cried.

The old man who earlier closed his eyes and was taking a nap suddenly woke up, and Wei Xue hurriedly called the doctor and the nurse.

The doctor in a white coat breathed a sigh of relief after the examination, “A good sign, the fever is going down.”

Little LaBa on the hospital bed was now wide awake, crying hard in his father’s arms.

He forgot what happened before, only remembering that he was pushed down by a beam of light, and woke up after that.

The pitiful appearance of Little LaBa made everyone feel heartache. Wei Xue wiped the tears from his face, while Little LaBa pouted and sobbed.

Feng Tingyun looked at his wife, “Is he hungry?”

After an entire day of injection, he hasn’t eaten properly, and must be hungry. Wei Xue hurriedly prepared milk powder for him, Little LaBa hugged the baby bottle and after sounds of sucking, he soon met the bottom of the bottle. After finishing drinking the milk, he proudly handed the baby bottle, “more…more…”

He spoke in a hurry and his words came out clumsily, repeating ”one more bottle” for a long time, until he was so angry that he lifted the bottle up in one move “Uhhhhhhhhh!”

You understand what I mean right?

Wei Xue hesitated a little. In the past, Little LaBa did not have such a good appetite. Suddenly, bad thoughts came out in her heart. It shouldn’t be terminal lucidity…

Wei Xue spat in her heart.

She and her husband looked at each other, and Feng Tingyun took the milk bottle and went out, “I’ll go ask the doctor if he can eat.”

The baby sitting in the hospital bed watched his father walk out and thought he was making powdered milk for him. He was so happy that he crossed his feet.

The old man grabbed two small pointed feet across the quilt and deliberately teased him, “Where did this little mouse come from?.”

Little LaBa was made into giggling, his feet curved like a whirligig. He pointed to the feet in the quilt, and with a milky voice explained, “Feet.”

This is feet , not a mouse.

The old man was amused, and Little LaBa also laughed with him. Looking at the thin face tormented by the illness pain, the old man sighed, what a good child, how good it would be if only he had a healthy body.

Wei Xue’s parents were in the neighboring city. Yesterday they were too rushed and  didn’t have the time to inform them. The old couple rushed here in a hurry when they received the news this morning.

When they arrived at the hospital, they didn’t catch any breath and hurried to the ward. When they opened the door, what they heard was the laughter of their little grandson.

The hearts of the old couple suddenly felt relieved. Wei Xue’s eyes were red when she saw her parents who were running without minding their image at all. “Parents, why are you here so fast?”

Wei Xue’s mother hugged her daughter, “Don’t be afraid, mom is here.”

Old man Feng shook hands with his in-laws. Wei Xue’s father greeted his little grandson, and asked about his condition.

Mentioning this, Old man Feng breathed a sigh of relief, and replied, “The doctor said it’s over.”

Grandpa’s heart felt relieved.

Little LaBa looked at the opposite person with his big eyes. Wei Yingran’s face who always had a serious expression all day long, became like spring water when he saw his grandson: “Our Little LaBa doesn’t recognize Grandpa anymore??”

Little LaBa thought about it. No, he didn’t recognise him.

He continued to stare at him.

Wei Yingran patted his small round head, “It’s good that he’s fine, your mother and I were going to drive here this morning, but our hands were trembling, and the heart was also flustered. So we let Xiao He send us to the high-speed rail.”

When Wei Yingran received her daughter’s call, he felt a buzz in his head and almost fainted. Fortunately, God was tolerant and didn’t take the baby away.

When Feng Tingyun came back, he saw that his father and mother-in-law had arrived. He said hello to his in-laws and hid the bottle behind him. “The doctor said to let him eat less and observe first. For the time being, do not feed him anymore.”

The little baby sitting on the bed stared at his father with straight eyes, “what’s going on, Daddy came back, why did the baby’s milk disappear? Does the little cow refuse to give it?
